Insight into Chery Group’s Executive, Goals & Readiness to Step into Thai Market in 2024

As Thailand presents bright prospects, investors and business operators from various industries are intersted in making investments here. Their focus is especially on technology and electric vehicles (EVs). “Chery Group”, a big automaker from China, has planned to make a big comeback in Thailand. This year, it is set to launch its new-generation or fully electric vehicles under “OMODA” brand as well as high-performance SUV “JAECOO” in the Thai market.

Mr. Yin Tongyue, President of Chery Automobile Company Limited, says Chery Group has developed automobile technology for well over 27 years now. Rooted in learning and technology development, Chery Group represents “the heart and grandeur of China”. Hiring more than 7,000 engineers and researchers, the group has operated five R&D centers in the world to develop vehicles that truly answer drivers’ lifestyles. Its serious R&D pursues five goals.

Leader of Next-Generation Vehicles

Chery Group has placed a strong emphasis on its R&D Department, which has made solid contributions to the group’s success and international recognition. To date, Chery Group has already held more than 20,000 technology patents. It has also launched more than 135 tech innovations. Among them are Super Hybrid Platform, E0X High-Performance Electric Platform, and the Third-Generation Hybrid Technology “C-DM” whose performance is so remarkable that it has won a Top Ten Engines and Hybrid Systems award.

Mr. Yin reveals that his group has accorded special importance to green technology and safety innovations, which set its R&D direction. Over the next five years, Chery Group will launch several pure electric models.

Driving Success, Paying Attention to Every Customer

Chery Group, a tech company, has enjoyed rapid growth during the past few years. Its business grew by more than 28.2% in 2022, paving the way for it to become China’s second largest automaker. Exporting over three million vehicles, it is also China’s biggest car exporter.

“Our extensive experience has extended far beyond development and manufacturing as we have also paid attention to every step of sales process from the appointment of dealers to after-sales services. What we sell are not just vehicles. We sell the vehicles that people love, the type that suits their taste and their needs. Our customers are proud owners of vehicles from Chery Group,” Mr. Yin Tongyue continued.

Not Just Any Car as We Deliver Superior Driving Experience

Boasting nearly three decades of experience, Chery Group truly understands drivers’ needs and dealers’ business operations. Backed by the understanding, it has continuously improved product development and quality for a competitive edge. A strong emphasis has also been placed on design and innovations that comply with international standards in pursuit of maximum customer safety and satisfaction.

Mr. Yin says because of constant development, Chery Group has successfully launched various popular car models. Its just-launched OMODA 5 EV is the group’s first pure electric model while JAECOO presents high-performance SUV (sport utility vehicle). Representing Chery Group’s top-class technology, these models answer customers’ diverse needs through simple yet elegant and timeless design plus eco-friendly features.

Thailand is Asia’s Right-Hand-Drive Hub

Chery Group is well aware of Thailand’s potential and strategic location in the global economy. Not only that the country has been a part of several international trade organizations, but it is also Southeast Asia’s car production base. Thailand, moreover, is ASEAN’s largest car market. It is therefore well ready to become Asia’s right-hand-drive hub. Chery Group now considers Thailand one of its strategic markets.

“In 2024, Chery Group will officially launch personal-car models OMODA 5 EV and JAECOO in Thailand. To back the launches, we will also open showrooms and service centers across the country to respond to the needs of Thai drivers.” Mr. Qi Jie, Thailand Country Director, OMODA & JAECOO (Thailand) conclude.
